Two people in my home love house plants more than the furniture or hardwood floors. It is mandatory for me to have these. They are shallow and so not going to stop a huge spill of water but it does the intended job. They are listed as made in the USA, but only a little more expensive than the overseas options. I only paid four and half dollars for the 8 inch model a couple of months ago, yet they are listed now for seven and half dollars. I’d still buy a few more at the higher price to avoid hundreds of dollars in water damage or pot-scratches on the furniture, but I’d buy ten more if they lower the price again.
