The Nymphaea lotus (zenkeri) is a stunning and diverse species from West Africa, featuring leaves that range in color from green to red-brown, often adorned with varying numbers of purple spots. This plant can grow to a height of 20-80 cm. Before developing floating leaves, Nymphaea lotus (zenkeri) produces numerous underwater leaves. To prevent the formation of floating leaves, regularly prune both the roots and the leaves. Its beautiful and aromatic flowers can be fully appreciated in open aquariums. A nutrient-rich substrate will encourage optimal growth. This plant is often available in both red and green varieties and is highly recommended as a solitary specimen for larger aquariums.
