I have purchased this particular shampoo several times now. I used to use other brands and sure, they get the dog clean, but this shampoo really brightens the white fur! She is a white dog with black patches who really loves to dig in the dirt. �� After using this brand, her white is very white, almost silvery white! Works like a charm every time.As for the smell, I’ve read some reviews where people liken the smell to ‘wet dog’. Well, after shampooing your dog, yes, it’s going to smell like wet dog because it IS a wet dog. Once your dog is dry you will appreciate the wonderful, light, sort-of-fruity smell this shampoo has and the softness of their fur. Very good shampoo and well worth the price, which is relatively inexpensive for a specialty shampoo.Just a tip: This shampoo is somewhat thick – I transfer some to a smaller bottle and use about 2/3 – 3/4 shampoo and the rest water to dilute it a bit. It works just as well, your shampoo will last longer, it’s easier to cover your dogs coat and get a really good suds, and a lot faster to rinse out.This shampoo does not have a conditioner and although it doesn’t need one, I use Biosilk for Dogs (sold on amazon) which has a more perfume-y scent and softens the fur ever more!
